saturday evening.
my friends and i are chilling in the local, ghetto "mall", not that it even closely resembles a mall. we're sitting at a couple of round tables, not bothering anyone, playing dungeons and dragons. because it was an impromptu games, there are no give-aways: no character sheets, no books, and we're talking pretty quietly. the only thing we have are the dice. just as the DM rolls the twenty-sided die, which is basically the god of the game, the rent-a-cop comes over. he says, "and then a frost dragon blows you out of the mall. WOOOOOSH."
and my life was made.
so now i'm going to ask him to play with us next saturday. seriously, i am.
moment two:
sunday evening.
my ipod was playing losing all control. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8oq4ecNC-I) [seriously, you have to listen to the song, or i'll sound like a freak.] i'm in the middle of a run, resting at a swingset at my old elementary school. suddenly, i look up, and i see a giant tree, sitting happily on the downward slope of a hill. i remember this tree - i did an excersize in my acting class where i closed my eyes and imagined this tree. i imagined walking towards it, and i touched the leaves with my hand. i swear, i could FEEL them. i could smell the tree.
so i got up, and walked up the hill. it was like a dream. i touched the leaves, and they felt JUST as they had felt in my mind. the smell was the same. i crawled into a shallow alcove of the tree, where there were no branches, a nice hiding spot. i could feel my eyes clouding over. i started breathing quickly, hyperventilating. i got up and i ran, out towards the parking lot and past the nearby church. i looked up and saw the sun setting. it was so breathtaking, i stood completely still. it was a beautiful, silent symphony of pinks and blues and oranges. the clouds were dancing.
